Dental Implants

The dental implant is an artificial root that is placed in the jaw bone that can accommodate a prosthetic element. It is indicated for people who have one or more missing teeth.

Dental implants surgery :

After local anesthesia, the dental surgeon makes incision in the gum and pierces a cavity in the jaw in which he inserts the implant. Then a radiographic check is carried out to ensure the correct position of the dental implant. Once the implant is in place, the surgeon sutures the gingiva and prescribes antibiotics and analgesic to the patient.

Duration of residence in Tunisia :

In order to do the Surgery, there is 2 trips.

  • The first trip: A period of 4 days at this step dental surgeon places the implants.
  • The 2nd trip : generally the period between the first and the second trip is 4 months, at this step the dentist places the prostheses on implants. It lasts up to 7-10 days depending on the number of implants.

Maintaing the dental implants :

Maintaining your implants in the same way as your natural teeth. Daily brushing is very important. Systematic and regular dental examinations are also recommended.

Lifetime of dental implants :

The lifetime of the implant depends of oral hygiene and maintenance may be up to 10-20 years.
